Noble Philip Violin

$0.00

Created as an homage to the late Maple Leaf Strings Luthier, Philip Doan, the MLS513 Noble Philip is intended to honor his commitment to the Maple Leaf Strings family and the national musical community.

Philip grew up in a musical family immersed in orchestral arts. His father was an orchestral community leader, founding the local junior strings program and a community orchestra for adult musicians.

For ten years, Philip worked at the Baroque Violin Shop, and his passion for empowering local musicians was evident and contagious. In 2010, Philip started working with Maple Leaf Strings. What began as a simple request to borrow Philip from Baroque for just one week turned into a ten-year journey at Maple Leaf Strings.

Philip's dedication to customers was apparent. If there was a need, he was ready and willing to be part of the solution. He rose through the organization, ultimately landing at the position of adjustment room manager. His work on instruments and his team leadership ensured that products from Maple Leaf Strings would empower students to grow musically.

As we look towards Philip's legacy at Maple Leaf Strings and within the local orchestral community, it is clear that Philip valued these communities dearly and committed his life to serve them.

The best way to honor Philip's investment was to create a model in his honor, the Noble Philip. In the spirit of Philip's orchestral community generosity, this instrument will be a vehicle for advancing musical opportunities for orchestral players.

For each Noble Philip purchased, Maple Leaf Strings will donate 10% of proceeds towards a scholarship fund created to provide access to private music education for underserved musicians. We will carry Philip's legacy forward, one instrument and one student at a time. Music changes the trajectory of a student's life, and by supporting the Noble Philip, we provide another access point to music that would not exist otherwise.

The Noble Philip model is beautiful. It is SO powerful sounding and has a clear, warm, and rich tone while also sounding balanced across all the strings. The varnish is gorgeous and reminds me of antique French instruments. It just wraps you up in its sound and leaves you wanting more!

I have really enjoyed making the 513VN Noble Philip violin a part of our inventory. It is a well-made, responsive violin that provides a robust sound at a very reasonable price point. You cannot go wrong with making this violin a part of the line you sell in our shop! Along with a great sound and solid construction, I especially love the antiqued varnish!
